Loan & Rent Safe

Using LoanIt is very safe as we NEVER ask you for your credit card details or any other sensitive information. The only information we ask you is your name and address upon registration, and even then we don't share this information. (We only display your city, suburb and postcode on your profile. Never your full address - this is so that other users have an idea of where to pick up the item.)

Here at LoanIt we try and make it as secure as possible for both the Loaner and the Borrower/Renter. But there are some things that you can do on your end to help protect yourself. Below are some suggestions.

• Make sure you print and have the rental agreement signed when meeting for the transaction (either the one we provide or another of your choice).
• Ask for a security deposit.
• Ask for a phone number and an address, and verify them (make a call before meeting the other member).
• If you're doing a transaction between individuals and are receiving a check, make sure the name on the check matches the person you are dealing with.
• Ask for an official ID document (drivers licence) to confirm the identity of the renter.
• Explain everything that the renter might need to know on how to use your item.

This rental agreement is offered as an optional and free download from LoanIt.co.nz. Under no circumstances is LoanIt to be considered a direct or indirect party to this agreement. The agreement is strictly between the owner and the renter as dependent upon their mutual agreement.
